Texas Ranch Journal
2025 Photo Contest
I’m honored to have won 3rd place in the Texas Ranch Journal’s Annual Photo Contest. It’s truly rewarding to use my photography to support and advocate for small ranchers and the bison industry—two communities that are close to my heart. I’m grateful to play a small part in sharing their stories and preserving their legacy through my lens.
Weathered, Worn, and Earned
3rd Place

Donnie Baggett, a dedicated bison rancher at Lucky B Bison Ranch in Brazos County, is captured in the black-and-white image as he closes the gate to the bison paddock after a long day of feeding and checking on his herd.
On a hot June afternoon, he not only cared for his animals but also took time to educate guests about bison. The moment I captured this photo reflected the quiet yet powerful dedication to ranch life - where hard work and passion meet. This image perfectly encapsulates the essence of ranching, illustrating the steadfast responsibility of being a livestock guardian.
